Job Title: Project Manager - Rooftop Solar PV

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description
Solar project managers typically have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • Negotiating contracts with vendors, including prices and terms of payment
  • Monitoring project performance and ensuring that the project is completed according to the agreed upon schedule and within budget guidelinesManaging all aspects of the project, such as selecting contractors, obtaining permits, and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure compliance with building codes
  • Scheduling work crews, ordering materials, and tracking progress on a daily basis
  • Managing relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the life of the project
  • Working with clients to determine their needs, designing custom solutions, and estimating costs
  • Reviewing engineering plans and conducting inspections during construction to ensure compliance with building codes and specifications
  • Communicating regularly with clients on project status and providing updates on any changes to the timeline or plan
  • Support business objectives of delivering value in all circumstances.
  • Chair regular project and progress meetings.
  • Deliver individual projects or parts of projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality.
  • Provide a professional and effective project management service including the use of performance indicators/project reporting systems in line with company & client procedures.
  • Manage the development and delivery of changes in compliance with company processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work. Oversee the administration of multiple solar PV contracts, running concurrently. Manage the production of project management plans and programmes.
  • Assist Senior Management with project budgets within agreed targets.
  • Deliver regular progress reports, including relevant risks and issues, and the submission of Change papers where required.
  • Prepare information for and liaise with third parties and authorities associated with the project

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent. Track record of achievement and career progression.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down the organization.
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Demonstrated success in the Project Management function of a construction firm.
  • Proven success managing subcontractors and developing and executing innovative project changes.
  • Success developing cost to completes, costing and pricing Change Orders, and maximizing profits.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret contract and insurance documents and forms, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Background in project start-up meetings, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, owner estimates, sub / vendor requisitions and cost to completes.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from senior leadership, team members, and peers.
  • Entrepreneurial with a well-rounded business perspective.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must.
  • Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, Wrike software with experience presenting to Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving project issues, making decisions, and identifying priorities.

Salary
N300,000 Monthly.
