Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Lagos
Reports To: CEO, Group General Manager

Job Purpose
  • To identify, research, plan, and create new markets for proposed business opportunities that are aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of The Company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop leads into opportunities and convert into new accounts.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds Sales Target as assigned.
  • Leverage on knowledge of industry trends and client challenges to develop and deliver compelling value propositions.
  • Manage client expectations throughout the sales cycle and closing process.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Co-create and implement strategies as well as design and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Work closely with client service to ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Develop effective working relationships with customers through regular meetings and identify and obtain further sales and business development opportunities.
  • Undertake regular project reviews with all involved in these processes to ensure transfer of knowledge.
  • Demonstrate excellent client facing and inter-communication skills.
Performance Metrics
Performance Area Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Business Development:
  • % of identified business opportunities and %generated into new ventures.
  • % of revenue/profit attributable to new business.
  • % of sales generated from online leads.
  • Quality of screening for new business ideas and opportunities.
Relationship Management:
  • Number of new contacts identified in government/industry/market that are critical to business growth and development.
  • % of these contacts developed into new businesses.
  • Timeliness of reporting business development activities to Board and external stakeholders
  • Reporting Prompt submission of Monthly and Quarterly performance reports.
  • Strategic thinking, forecasting and planning skills.
Qualifications
The Ideal candidate MUST have:
  • A bachelors degree in any field( A Foreign degree will be of added advantage)
  • At least 5 years of Business Development experience( relevant experience in hospitality will be of added advantage.
