Job Roles
- Research and report on a wide range of business topics, including but not limited to finance, economics, industry trends, startups, and corporate news.
- Conduct interviews with business leaders, economists, analysts, and other relevant experts to gather information and insights.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest business news and market developments, both locally and globally.
- Pitch and develop compelling story ideas and angles that resonate with our audience.
- Write accurate, concise, and engaging news articles for print, online and broadcast platforms, adhering to Daily Trust’s journalistic standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with editors, producers, and other team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality news content.
- Utilize various sources, including press releases, official reports, and financial statements, to gather information for reporting assigned beats.
- Contribute to live broadcasts, providing on-air analysis and commentary on business news stories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Business Reporter or in a similar role within a media organization.
- Strong understanding of business and financial concepts, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible content.
