Job Title: Business Development Analyst

Job Description

• We are recruiting a full-time Business Development Analyst. As a member of the CBE team, you will actively support in deploying the $200M fund to finance large scale renewable energy-hybrid assets for telecommunication businesses across Africa.
• You will report to the Senior Business Development Manager leading the Telecommunication Energy Services (TESCO) workstream within CBE.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the ESCO team on tracking various opportunities and helping ensure efficient follow-up
• Understand clients’ business activities and drivers
• Develop and iterate pricing and solutions for potential clients across multiple geographies
• Develop proposals and presentations for clients with commercial terms and value proposition
• Conduct market research to inform business strategy
• Support desktop due diligence of potential projects and clients.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance-related major
• 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience in a business or finance-related field
• Experience living and/or working in emerging markets
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills

Ideal candidate:

• Work experience in energy or climate-related field. Specific experience in the telecom sector is a plus.
• Experience with GIS tools and analysis
• Work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
• 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience at top tier firm.

Who You Are:

• Self-starter who is passionate about energy/sustainability/decarbonization and its potential to transform fragile states and frontier markets in Africa
• Strong quantitative skills; familiarity with financial and pricing models. Expert excel and VBA skills is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing, challenging context
• Strong business judgement; ability to independently conduct evaluations of a variety of businesses
• Ability to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues in challenging environments.
