We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Anesthetic Nurse

Location: Borno
Employment Type: Full time

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available for anaesthesia administration.
  • Assisting in administering anaesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, during anesthesia administration.
  • Managing patients' airways and ensuring proper ventilation throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Administering medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the medical team.
  • Assisting with the insertion of invasive monitoring devices, such as arterial lines and central venous catheters.
  • Assisting in the positioning and preparation of patients for surgery.
  • Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families before and after anesthesia administration.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of anesthesia administration and patient responses.
  • Adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring a clean and sterile environment in the operating room.
  • Support other medical team with relevant task and activities

Qualifications

  • Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid nursing license in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 5 - 7 years relevant work experience.
  • Additional certification as an anesthesia nurse or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) may be required or preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of anesthesia techniques, medications, and equipment.
  • Ability to accurately monitor and interpret patient vital signs and respond appropriately to changes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and their families.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to assist with patient positioning and perform nursing tasks.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in anesthesia practice through continuing education and professional development.
