We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Employment Type: Full-time

What Does the Job Involve

• Taking a primary role in the planning, structuring and execution of any capital raising for the Company.
• Focal point on projects financing and driver of execution mandates
• Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
• Lead investor due diligence processes and engagements
• Developing and managing the Corporate Financial Model.
• Responsible for investors relation by responding to questions and queries raised by investors/Lenders or potential investors/lenders
• Perform financial forecasting and Reporting
• Preparation of the company’s Annual Budget, and strategic capital allocation. Working with the various operational heads, and operational metrics tracking
• Organizing and leading periodic meeting with other departments, where key financial information can be shared and disseminated. Responsible for driving key discussion topics and agenda for each meeting
• Complete monthly management reporting and annual audited accounts for the company
• Legal & tax - manage the company's legal & tax function, by leveraging 3rd party advisors. Manage all aspects of legal & tax including contracting, litigation, company tax & legal structuring, tax compliance and the procurement of necessary licenses and registrations to conduct its business;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Sciences
• CIMA or ACCA qualification will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Investment banking, Private equity, corporate business development and / or venture capital
• M&A experience incl. valuation and preparation of fundraising materials
• Financing and Credit Markets experience
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with data query/data management tools will be extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)

Non-Negotiables

• Candidate should be a citizen of South Africa or Nigeria, if Kenyan the candidate should have significant international exposure.
• The candidate must have 7+ years of experience raising money for a start-up or investing in start-ups, i.e.,investment banking, venture capitalism, angel investment, hedge funding, etc.
• Candidate must be willing to travel to Nairobi, Kenya frequently
