Job Overview
- A Medical Doctor is a healthcare professional who is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients' health conditions. They work in medical facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and private practices.
- The work of a Medical Doctor may involve long and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Conducting physical examinations and medical histories of patients
- Diagnosing medical conditions and illnesses
- Prescribing and administering treatments, medications, and other therapies
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures
- Referring patients to specialists when necessary
- Monitoring patients' health conditions and progress
- Counseling and advising patients on healthcare and lifestyle choices
- Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree from an accredited Medical School
- Licensure to practice medicine in the state of employment
- Completion of a residency program in a relevant medical field
- Board certification in a relevant medical specialty
- Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies
- Attention to detail and ability to make sound medical decisions
