Job Title: Data Centre & Cloud Solutions Specialist

Responsibilities
- The DC & Cloud Solutions Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and performing installations, maintenance and upgrades on clustered servers in a high-availability environment.
- He/She will interface with hardware vendors to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems and provide top level technical expertise and support for all services.
- He/she will also work with the technical department to develop hardware configuration test plans to support implementation efforts, and contribute to the development and improvement of Cloud-related processes and procedures
Other Responsibilities includes:
- Monitoring and ensuring maximum uptime on existing hardware/networks.
- Performing software, hardware and network maintenance and configuration changes as required.
- Ensuring the proper deployment of new Cloud hardware, including servers, switches and storage arrays.
- Providing timely and effective responses and updates to work tickets and other requests
- Identifying, recommending and implementing potential improvements to service efficiency
- Understanding and operating within Cloud licensing agreements
- Maintaining accurate and detailed asset inventory records
- Adhering to Best Practice in all IT-related matters
Qualifications & Competencies Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
- At least five (5) years’ specific experience in Enterprise-level IT operations
- At least two years’ exposure to the provision of Cloud services
- Relevant Certifications (such as MCSE Private Cloud, CCIE, CCNA, EMCIE, EMCTA, VCP) are taken into account
- Linux system administration (preferably RedHat)
- Windows Server administration
- POST, PXE and OS booting techniques, TFTP, DHCP and HTTP
- LDAP and Active Directory design and implementation
- VMware’s vSphere technology stack (ESXi v5+, vCloud, vCAC, vCenter, vCops, vMotion, DRS, vShield etc)
- Hyper-V, System Centre 2012 R2, NVG, Windows Azure Pack, WDS/WAIK, SCOM, VMM, SPF
- Storage technologies such as EMC VNX, EMC FAST, SAN switching
- Backup technologies such as Avamar, Data Domain, Ms DPM
- Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and KVM
- Web/Middleware technologies such as WSRR, WODM, OpenAM, Mule, WMQ
- Cisco switching products, including the Nexus 1000v
- Network design and deployment techniques (including PVlans)
- Chassis/blade/component installation and maintenance procedures
- Scripting - any from Perl, Python, Unix Shell, XML, XPATH, Dell CLI
Also Preferred are:
- VCE Vblock, Cisco UCX and Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault infrastructure
- Database products such as Oracle, SQL server and PostgreSQL
- Enterprise Unix administration (AIX, Solaris, HPUX)
