Job Description

- The Education Project Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of the NRC education portfolio at the area level, and represents NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager. This position is a key member of the Area Management Group.
- If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Education Project Manager to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno State.
- You will be responsible for the effective implementation of the NRC education portfolio at the area level, and represents NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager. This position is a key member of the Area Management Group.
Responsibilities
- Provide regular progress reports on activities, spending, procurement and staffing to the Area Manage
- Represent NRC in sectorial coordination, emergency meetings, clusters and/or working group at the area level
- Carry out progress review meetings for ongoing projects
- Implement the programme ensuring high quality and cost efficiency targeting the programme participants who are the most in need
- Support the Education Specialist on the development of proposals, concept notes and contextualization of activities and materials
- Ensure regular site visits to ensure that projects are implemented in a timely manner and adapted to local needs
- Carry out training needs assessments and systematically build the capacity of education staff at the area level to ensure quality implementation
- Apply protection and prevention mechanisms in all project activities and interactions to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and programme participants
- Ensure that the NRC resources are used in accordance with the humanitarian principles in the area.
Qualifications
- Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience from a management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Strategic thinking
- Managing resources to optimize results

- Handling insecure environments
- Managing performance and development.
