Job Title: Procurement Officer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- The procurement officer will; oversee purchases and develop new contracts, play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for the organization whilst following procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of current and incoming inventory, and be responsible for approving purchases.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Complying with the company's procurement policies and procedures.
- Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and obtaining necessary approvals for products and services to be purchased.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts, ensuring a win-win situation
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Checking the standard and quality of items received according to specification.
- Processing and fast-tracking vendor / supplier payments as at when due.
- Market analysis survey.
- Preparing budgets, cost analysis, and reports on the cost of consumables periodically.
Job Specification
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a procurement officer
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain. (CIPSCM)
- Must have basic clerical and administrative skills, such as typing / Word Processing, and be computer literate.
