Golden Sugar Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, and a member of the FMN Group. The company operates one of the biggest Sugar Refineries in Nigeria, with a capacity to process 750,000 metric tons of Sugar per annum.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Artisan Electrician

Location: Niger

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Installations: Perform the installation of electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components. Ensure that all installations meet relevant codes and standards.
  • Electrical Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in existing systems. Diagnose problems, identify faulty components, and implement necessary fixes to restore functionality.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards or signs of wear. Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and ensure safe operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and electrical codes to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage. Promote a safety-first culture among team members and customers.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and execute electrical installations accurately.
  • Wiring and Circuitry: Design and implement electrical wiring and circuitry layouts for new installations or renovation projects. Safely and efficiently route electrical cables and wires.
  • Electrical Testing: Use testing equipment to measure electrical currents, voltage, and resistance. Verify the proper functioning of electrical systems and troubleshoot irregularities.
  • Energy Efficiency: Advise clients on energy-efficient electrical solutions, including the use of LED lighting, programmable thermostats, and energy-saving appliances.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside other skilled tradespeople, such as contractors, engineers, and construction teams, to coordinate electrical work within larger projects.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients professionally, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and explaining technical aspects of electrical installations and repairs.
  • Compliance Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including service reports, work orders, and equipment inventory.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest electrical technologies, regulations, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge within the industry.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess an OND qualification with 3-10 years experience.
