Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Job Title: Officer, Energy Metering Engineer

Job Summary
- Responsible for pre-metering inspection, installation, reading, and calibration of meters; load assessment for newly customers.
- Role will provide strategic advisory support to the Energy Management Team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of the following meters:
- Single Phase
- Three Phase
- Whole Current Meter Board
- MD Low Voltage Standard Meter Board
- MD High Voltage Standard Meter Board
- Maintenance, certification and re-certification of meters as stated above.
- Testing and calibration of all kind of meters as enumerated above.
- New customer capture, periodic customer tariff reclassification and prepare exception reports
- Coordinating with other department to attend to customer complaints related to metering activities
- Confirmation of form 74 as declared by the customer
- Pre-metering inspection and Routine maintenance
- Energy loss analysis and weekly report on new customers connections
- Process management for the network asset planning processes
- Monitoring alignment of planning process with corporate and regulatory thrusts and requirements
- Recommendation / specification of customers' tariff structure / placement based on the nature of their business and load measurement.
- Maintain good relationship with customers
- Provision of support to services to other offices
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Excellent understanding of the standards of the energy industry.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness
- Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions
- Ability to interact favorably with project and work teams
- Strong skills in negotiating, planning, problem solving, and timely problem escalation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or HND preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Physics/Electronics, Computer Engineering or any relevant field.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Master's degree /or certification is an added advantage.
- NSE registration is an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a related function
