Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Information and Communication Technology Department:

Job Title: Officer, System Administrator

Job Type: Full-time
Locations: Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States

Job Summary
  • Provide system support to staff at various units and departments across the organization.
  • To ensure network and connection availability to all users on KADUNA ELECTRIC's network, and install, configure, support and monitor the network services, business and operational support applications, and also perform needed upgrades and system maintenance
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain ICT network infrastructure like desktops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Configure and maintain email and other business support applications on user's systems.
  • Provide ICT support to Kaduna Electric staff in business offices.
  • Manage all communication systems, routers, switches, mobile devices, firewalls and network security, patching and licenses, and vendor management to ensure a high-level of uptime and proper level of data security.
  • Assist in providing training and support to ICT infrastructure end users
  • Manage and implement network infrastructures and network security and support the network administration within Kaduna Electric business offices.
  • Perform regular maintenance procedures and ensure the necessary security measures are taken
  • Contributing to and maintain system standards
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned.
Competency and Skill Requirements
  • Knowledge of Technical support, Systems and Network Administration processes and procedures
  • Ability to working at set deadlines under pressure with limited resources
  • Working innovatively to employ and deploy systems and network administration technologies
  • Ability to effectively provision network security services to protect KADUNA ELECTRIC's ICT infrastructure
  • Ability to adhere to system management best practices
Experience and Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any ICT Technical and Engineering related field.
  • Masters in ICT related field will be an advantage.
  • 2 - 6 years' work experience in ICT field.
  • ICT technical support experience.
  • Experience with Systems and Network administration in energy utilities will be an advantage
  • Certification in the following will be an added advantage: Comptia A+, MCP, MSCE, Network+, CCNA, Operating System Certifications (Windows/Linux/Unix/Mac etc.).
