Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Job Title: Senior Officer, System Design and Development

Job Summary
- Design and develop software applications that will support the operations within Kaduna Electric and meets the organizational and user requirements.
- To carry out software audits and advise on licensing compliance.
- Develop a system that will enforce compliance to ICT policy, processes and procedures.
- The system design and development officer will be responsible for the integration of various third party systems use within the company to ensure centralization, control and ease of reporting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide system analysis and development
- Participate in database design including setting up and testing new data handling applications
- Updating and integrating existing database applications as well as supporting database functions by designing and coding utilities
- Recommending system specifications for new and existing applications
- Contributing to and maintain system standards
- Validate results by testing programs
- Design website / E-payment channels systems
- Conduct website and payment portal maintenance
- Provide training and user manuals to users of new and existing systems
- Providing data architectures for proposed systems
- Keeping up to date with technical and industry developments
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Software Design and bug testing
- Scripting on various platforms
- DBMS configuration and programming
- Algorithm specifications for problem solving
- Building software development teams
- Ability to solicit user requirements from KADUNA ELECTRIC staff
- Ability to communicate user requirements to the development team
- Excellent skills in Java, Java Script, C++, VB, MS Access, MS SQL, PHP, XML, C# and .Net
- Hosting and virtualization
- Familiar with multiple operating systems programming
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science /Software Engineering or related field
- Masters in Computer Science or related field
- 3 - 7 years work experience in software development
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Familiarity with Management Information Systems in energy utilities
- Preferred Additional Qualifications, CSDA, CSDP, MCSD, PMP all provide added advantages
