Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Job Summary
- Design and development of KADUNA ELECTRIC network servers and database systems.
- To ensure data integrity, efficiency and performance of the systems as well as performing routine maintenance and upkeep of data systems postmaster.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Controlling access/user permissions and privileges to KADUNA ELECTRIC database and servers.
- Install new /rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage etc
- Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans, also ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
- Monitoring Database efficiency
- Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
- Compiling technical reports on KADUNA ELECTRIC data center facilities.
- Carry out periodic checks on database segments
- Coordinating Billing and Non-billing Reports Development
- Coordinate Active Directory and Email Administration
- Designing and scheduling jobs for datacenter operations
- In-depth knowledge of scripting
- In-depth knowledge of server applications and administration
- Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of Kaduna Electric datacenter equipment including servers, network storage etc.
- Assigning best suited processing resources for the required processing tasks
- Handling and maintaining confidentiality for sensitive Kaduna Electric information
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve downtime in a high pressure environment.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned.
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Designing and scheduling database operations, back up, and maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of scripting
- Deploy server applications
- Working knowledge and experience in active directory and intranet.
- Manage user and group accounts in Windows domains or other LDAP application
- Experience using MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL.
- Configure SQL Server Clustering and understand load-balancing technologies
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Masters in Computer Science or related field preferably
- 3 - 7 years' work experience involving data center and database operations
- Work experience in the administration of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- At least 2 years supervisory experience
- ICT certifications such as MSCE, OCA, A+, Oracle, Microsoft SQL
- Programming experience will be an added advantage
