Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Engineering and Technical Services Department:

Job Title: Team Lead, Asset Management

Job Status: Full-time

Job Summary
  • Develops policies, maintains, controls and monitors power system assets in accordance with company's approved standards and international best practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the asset management system in accordance with the departmental framework and guidelines.
  • Develop, optimize and execute annual planned maintenance schedule of all power system equipment, devices and systems in line with the departmental strategy and budget.
  • Ensure adequate and timely maintenance of all power system equipment, devices and systems with minimal power interruption to customers and in compliance with international best practices.
  • Establishes quality assurance systems that will access, collect, analyze and distribute results within the company utilizing quantitative tools to measure, analyze and control power system maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Supports all aspects of the quality system, including planning, control and improvement, and the application of product and process control methods such as developing control plans, identifying critical control points, developing and validating work instructions, JSA, etc.
  • Promote and maintain safety in the workplace. Observe established safety regulations and procedures.
  • Generate quality improvement suggestions and coach others to generate ideas. Assist with implementation of adopted suggestions.
  • Recommend design enhancements within engineering and cost parameters that will facilitate quality and process efficiency. Analyze part tolerances and recommend changes as required.
  • Monitor, test and inspect products to make certain they meet specified standards.
  • Analyze engineering specifications and monitor operational processes to develop and install quality control methods, practices and procedures.
  • Perform RCFA on all critical equipment failures and participates in incident investigations, RCFAs, EMA, RCMs, etc. within assigned areas.
Experience and Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Master's Degree /or Certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 year cognate experience
  • Registered Engineer/Professional Membership (NSE, IET, IEEE etc.) is an added advantage.
Competency and Skill Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of power industry applicable standards (IEEE, IEC, etc.).
  • Be adaptable and able to meet deadlines on assignments and juggle multiple demands as may be required.
  • Understanding of Safety procedures and environmental safety codes.
  • Team player with exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Strong skills in problem solving, and timely problem escalation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
