Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.
Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Engineering and Technical Services Department:
Job Title: Communication Technician
Job Status: Full-time
Locations: Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States
Job Summary
- Ensures effective operational communications through both VHF and HF communications channels within Kaduna Electric coverage area.
- Be able to program, install, maintain and carryout repairs, on such facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and repair of VHF, HF, Facsimile, telephone etc.
- Maintenance and servicing of PABX Intercom systems.
- Ensure economic and efficient operations of these system within Kaduna Electric control Area to meet company strategic objectives and enhance company revenue.
- Monitor the use of communications channels for operational compliance.
- Maintain operational records, logs and prepare technical and operational reports.
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- First Degree/ equivalent in Electrical/Communication Engineering.
- Professional Qualification is additional advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 2-6 years' cognate experience.
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Adequate knowledge of communication systems - VHF , HF , Facsimile, telephone etc
- Excellent understanding of switching, operation and safety manuals, international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI etc)and codes of power industry.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office application
- Excellent Team player.
- Be adaptable and juggle multiple demands.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and troubleshoot.
