Job Title: Operations and Dispatch Technician

Job Summary
- Responsible for safe and correct operation of substation facilities during normal and emergency system conditions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports
- Monitor and visually inspect station instruments, meters and alarms to ensure voltages and line loadings are within prescribed limits and to detect equipment failure, line disturbances and outages
- Issue work and test permits to electrical maintenance personnel, and assist maintenance and technical personnel to locate and isolate system problems and assist during routine system testing
- Provide updated information on any significant system events to appropriate authorities and assist in preparing reports for management on system disturbances, emergencies, or any unusual operating condition or action.
- Acts independently during an emergency by performing duties in rapid succession involving switching, adjusting load and/or voltage, or extinguishing fires.
- Performs incidental or related duties such as cleaning up and general housekeeping and receiving telephone complaints from the public.
Experience and Minimum Requirements
- OND/ equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 2-5 years cognate experience
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Excellent understanding of switching and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office application
- Excellent Team player.
- Be adaptable and juggle multiple demands.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
