Job Title: Pattern Drafting Facilitator

Brief

• As a Pattern Drafting Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting the design and development of various sewing patterns.
• You will collaborate with designers, garment technologists, and other team members to create accurate and well-structured patterns for clothing and other textile products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to interpret garment designs and create initial pattern drafts.
• Use specialized software or manual techniques to draft patterns accurately, considering fabric properties and garment fit.
• Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to patterns for optimal fit and style.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications for patterns, including seam allowances, notches, and grain lines.
• Develop and maintain pattern libraries, ensuring proper organization and version control.
• Provide guidance and support to garment technologists and sample makers during the construction of prototypes.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions on pattern drafting techniques for internal teams or external participants.
• Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and technologies related to pattern drafting and garment construction.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure a smooth transition from pattern development to manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
• with 2 - 3 years work experience.
• Proven experience as a Pattern Drafting Facilitator or in a similar role within the fashion industry.
• Proficiency in using pattern drafting software and CAD systems (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Gerber, Optitex).
• Strong understanding of garment construction principles, fabric properties, and pattern grading.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate patterns.
• Strong communication and teaching skills to facilitate pattern drafting workshops effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of different body shapes and sizes and their impact on pattern development.
• Experience in pattern grading and working with pattern blocks is a plus.
