RwandAir - We began operations on 1st December 2002 as the new national carrier under the name Rwandair Express (passenger Air transportation as the core activity) for Rwanda with a concession to carry out airport ground handling (ancillary activity) at Kigali International airport, Kanombe. In March 2009, we registered a new trademark "RwandAir" which is our current operating name.

Operating from Kigali as our hub, the airline boasts of a young fleet of two Boeing 737-800NG, two Boeing 737-700NG, two CRJ900NG and a Dash8-200 and has chosen to provide a memorable travel experience to every single passenger on our routes. Later this year we will take delivery of a brand new Bombardier Q-400NextGen.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Country Manager - Nigeria

Job Description
  • The Country Manager is responsible for the overall administration of RwandAir's operation in Nigeria and meet uplift, load factor and revenue targets set for the Country.
  • S/he undertakes responsibility and accountability for the management, control and administration of RwandaAir's assets.
  • S/he is primarily responsible to oversee all sales staff and responsible for the sales, marketing, customer services, and financial activities of the Country.
  • S/he is responsible to build strong relations with all relevant government and regulatory agencies and comply with all local and international legal requirements, conventions, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • S/he will be responsible to identify sales opportunities and implement sales and marketing initiatives, develop short and long term sales and marketing plans, formulate competitive analysis, recommend pricing actions, promote and advertise WB services, provide adequate and timely feedback to head office and expand and maintain distribution channels and trade partners.
  • S/he is responsible for cost effective solutions to deliver its programs and build customer retention programs.
Qualification and Experience
  • University Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial Operations in the Travel Industry of which a minimum of 2 years are ata senior level with a proven track record.
  • Experience in Account relationship management.
  • Knowledge of sales, reservations, airport services and cargo.
  • Commercial acumen with an overall knowledge of airline operations.
  • An excellent command of the English language (written and verbal) is essential.
  • Proven track record in airline sales, marketing, reservations and revenue management processes.
  • Proven ability to work independently and think both tactically and strategically.
  • In depth knowledge of respective country including how to sell effectively in the market and exhibiting strong cultural awareness.
  • Knowledge of IATA recommendations to airlines / travel agencies for selling in the marketplace.
