Checkers Suites and Apartments is an elegant facility located about 25 minutes drive from the Abuja Airport and about 30 minutes drive from the Central Business District.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hotel Manager

Location: Sabon-Lugbe, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Manager oversees the entire operations of the facility and takes responsibility for leading the workforce towards achieving the desired goals and objectives of the business of the organization by developing and implementing the operations strategies.
  • The position requires ensuring that operations meet the brand’s target customer needs, ensuring employee satisfaction, focusing on growing revenues and maximizing financial performance.

Specifically, the role involves:

  • Keeping operations team focused on the critical components of operations to drive guests’ satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that all operational areas have an atmosphere that is conducive to the overall guest experience.
  • Reviewing financial reports and statements to determine how Operations is performing against budget.
  • Ensuring capital expenditure funds are being used to address the priorities outlined in the service strategy.
  • Striving to maintain profit margins without compromising guests’ satisfaction.
  • Identifying and analysing operational challenges and facilitating the development of solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Coaches and supports operations team to effectively manage occupancy & rate, wages and controllable expenses.
  • Striving to improve service performance.
  • Communicating a clear and consistent message regarding operational goals and objectives to team in order to achieve the desired results.
  • Ensuring that core elements of the service strategy are in place to produce the desired results.
  • Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Hires operations management team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity and entrepreneurial leadership skills to meet the business needs of the operation.
  • Conducting Team performance appraisals and giving feedbacks on outcome.
  • Carry out any other lawful tasks that may be assigned by management in the interest of the role and organization.

Requirements

  • University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Business Administration, Hotel and Hospitality Management, or related academic discipline from a reputable Institution with a minimum of 8 years cognate experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Proven track record in delivering excellent guest experiences in hospitality sector.
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of hotel software and booking systems
  • Should reside around the Abuja Airport road.
  • Functional marketing skills & use of appropriate social medial marketing tools.
