Checkers Suites and Apartments is an elegant facility located about 25 minutes drive from the Abuja Airport and about 30 minutes drive from the Central Business District.

Job Title: Barman

Job Description

• Welcome guests with a warm friendly smile
• Show guest to seat and present drinks & food menu
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes, make suggestions and answer questions regarding food, beverages, and service.
• Process guests’ orders and ensures all items are prepared properly and in a timely manner.
• Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction with the food and service.
• Take room service orders & serve guest in room promptly
• Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages & serve as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes
• Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Perform suggestive or up selling to guests.
• Observe diners to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and respond to any additional requests.
• Prepare guest bills that itemize and total meal costs and sales tax.
• Process & collect payments from guests and balance all receipts
• Clear, clean & disinfect table upon completion of the meal.
• Follow food safety and handling procedures & security policies as outlined by company and government standards
• Maintain superior standards of quality, service, and cleanliness in the restaurant, Bar Garden & Lounge service areas
• Consistently maintains a neat, organized, clean & disinfected workspace with clean uniform and allocated face mask, gloves & PPE at all times
• Demonstrates a commitment to provide the best possible experience for guests, ensuring superior personalized service
• Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
• Handle and move objects, such as glasses and bottles, using hands and arms.
• Clear ashtrays as and when required.
• Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
• Follow all cash handling procedures as per company standard.
• Prepare inventory or stock requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
• Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for Mixing beverages and serving guests.
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Perform other duties as and when assigned by the hotel management.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an NCE / OND / SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with at least 2 years work experience.
• Must have good Bar knowledge.
• Must be able to communicate in English writing and speaking
• Good personality and Positive interpersonal skills
• Should reside around Abuja Airport road.
