Job Summary
  • Pinkerton is seeking a Safety & Emergency Response Manager who will be located full-time in EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) region, working with the Regional Security Director (RSD) and supporting management tiers to facilitate interaction with the Emergency Management Program.
  • The Manager will utilize emergency management best practices, fire risk assessments, and industrial fire precautions in order to improve and execute security compliance and risk mitigation programs.
  • This position will assist in the design and development of training lesson plans, the facility site-specific hazard assessment, and emergency classification procedures. The Manager conducts procedure training and performs/monitors a variety of emergency management drills, medical drills, fire response drills, and protective action drills.

The Essential Functions Include:
  • Represent Pinkerton’s core values of integrity, vigilance and excellence.
  • Work through the RSDs, to collaborate with;
    • Enterprise Crisis Management Team,
    • Regional Incident Management Teams,
    • Facility Emergency Management Team Leads.
  • Conduct compliance quality checks aligned with Enterprise Procedure 2.21 (Enterprise Crisis Management), to ensure that the enterprise is aligned in its management of situations which impact the business.
  • Attend periodic conference calls among Enterprise Security leaders, Facility Emergency Management Team Leads and other process partners and clients as described.
  • Deliver and align centrally developed policies, procedures, training, and communication materials for regional Emergency Management Teams, Facility Emergency Management Team Leaders and Facility Security Managers.
  • Identify areas of improvement in current systems and tools to improve the process.
  • Deliver proposed strategic plans in conjunction with the RSD.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and provide information to the Client as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all the other “Enterprise Security Risk Management programs” which may relate directly or indirectly to “Emergency Management Planning”, including but not limited to:
    • Risk Based Security Program
    • Workplace Violence Prevention practice, process, and procedure
    • Crisis Management Program
    • Travel Security Program
    • Information Security Program
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the organization’s processes and hazard policies. Work with local engineering and operation staff to ensure appropriate development of a facility site specific hazard assessment and emergency classification procedures.
  • Conduct Emergency Management drills, medical drills, fire response drills, monitoring drills and protective action drills, and exercises.
  • Assist in design and development of training lesson plans and conduct procedure training/exercises.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications at Entry
  • Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
Minimum Hiring Standards
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
  • Must meet the country’s age requirements.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., email, cell phone).
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
  • Must have the legal right to work in the assigned country/regional location.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D; with a Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent experience is preferred with at least six years of experience with a private sector emergency management organization or public service organization that included a strong emergency management component.
  • Certification such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Certified Emergency Manager, or other Emergency Management accredited program is preferred.
Competencies
  • Must possess a working knowledge of emergency management best practices, fire risk assessment and implementation of general fire precautions in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated, proven leadership experience and ability to execute security compliance and risk mitigation programs.
  • Certification such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Certified Emergency Manager, or Emergency Management accredited program.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and escalate major matters to the RSD, as appropriate, and build an understanding of responding appropriately to lesser matters.
  • Working knowledge of risk based security practice, process, and procedure.
  • Must possess an understanding and application of security in different cultures, working across different countries, and experience in an international environment.
