Job Title: Manager, Retail Operations

Location: Lekki, Lagos (Hybrid)

The Role

• We are seeking an energetic, execution focused, results oriented Manager, Retail Operations in Nigeria.
• The person will supervise and oversee the effective settlement of card transactions and reconciliation management of virtual and physical cards’ providers and partners.
• You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of retail payment operations within the organization.
• This role involves overseeing various aspects of retail operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall retail payment experience for both businesses and customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review and settlement of cards/ barter transactions.
• Reconciliation of payment collection channels (Mobile money and POS).
• Reconciliation of card/ barter payment method (i.e. PayWithBarter).
• Continuously evaluate existing retail payment processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
• Management and Reconciliation of virtual and physical cards, across all currencies.
• Monitor retail payment activities for potential fraud or security breaches, implementing measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations.
• Preparation and submission of Barter related reports.
• Reconciliation of NGN Physical cards.
• Reconciliation of all products with Collection and Payout features.
• Supervise the treatment of Chargeback logged against Flutterwave.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, customer support, and technology, to ensure seamless integration of retail payment solutions.

Required Competency and Skillset to be a Waiver

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Operations Management, Finance)
• 5-7 years of experience in retail and reconciliation operations, payment processing, or related roles, preferably within the fintech or payments industry
• Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading and motivating operational teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, identifying operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions
• Knowledge of payment industry regulations, security protocols, and fraud prevention measures
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
• Excellent financial analytical, strategic planning and execution skills
• High level of attention to detail and ability to identify errors
• Strong relationship management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet set deadlines
• Excellent presentation skills
• High sense of responsibility, accountability, integrity and ethical standards
• Ability to work independently to fulfil assigned tasks.
