Job Title: Nursery and Primary School Instructor

Job Description

  • A nursery and primary school instructor is a compassionate educator responsible for providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children at the nursery and primary levels.
  • The instructor plays a fundamental role in fostering children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development while introducing them to a range of subjects and skills.
  • A nursery and primary school instructor plays a pivotal role in laying the foundation for children's lifelong learning, nurturing their curiosity, and shaping their positive attitudes toward education.

Responsibilities

  • Child-Centered Teaching: Designing and delivering age-appropriate lessons that cater to the developmental needs and learning styles of young children. Using creative and interactive methods to engage their curiosity and enhance their understanding.
  • Early Childhood Development: Focusing on the holistic development of children by nurturing their cognitive, motor, language, social, and emotional skills through structured activities, games, and play.
  • Language and Literacy: Introducing children to basic language skills, including vocabulary, phonics, reading, and storytelling. Cultivating a love for reading and language through age-appropriate materials.
  • Numeracy Skills: Teaching foundational math concepts through hands-on activities, games, and interactive lessons that develop children's understanding of numbers, shapes, patterns, and basic arithmetic.
  • Creativity and Arts: Encouraging children to express themselves through art, music, drama, and other creative outlets. Providing opportunities for exploration and self-discovery.
  • Physical Development: Organizing activities that promote gross and fine motor skills, coordination, and physical fitness. Incorporating movement, play, and outdoor activities into the curriculum.
  • Social Skills: Fostering social interaction, cooperation, and communication among children. Teaching them essential social skills such as sharing, taking turns, empathy, and conflict resolution.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times. Maintaining a secure and nurturing classroom environment that supports children's emotional needs.
  • Parent Communication: Regularly communicating with parents or guardians about children's progress, achievements, and areas of development. Organizing parent-teacher conferences and providing feedback on individual child's growth.
  • Curriculum Development: Designing and adapting curriculum materials, lesson plans, and educational resources that align with the needs of nursery and primary students.
  • Classroom Management: Creating an organized, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, respect, and positive behavior.
  • Assessment: Observing and assessing children's learning and development through various methods, including informal assessments, projects, and portfolios.
  • Professional Development: Continuously seeking professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest early childhood education techniques, methodologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
  • Passion for working with young children and a genuine interest in their growth and development.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude toward children.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when interacting with young learners and their parents.
  • Creativity and the ability to design engaging, hands-on activities for young children.
  • Knowledge of child psychology, early childhood development theories, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
  • Previous experience in teaching or working with nursery and primary school students is a plus.
