Job Title: Fitness Manager

Location: Ojodu Berger, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are hiring to fill the position of a fitness manager. He/She will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the gym/fitness centre. He/She will oversee the activities of the fitness instructors and personal trainers that work in the centre. The Manager is responsible for providing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of gym operations including the Front Desk and Housekeeping operations with an emphasis on excellent customer service and overall gym administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily facility walk-throughs to ensure the cleanliness of the facility.
  • Ensure that all maintenance issues are reported, updated upon completion or notes of delays, and communicating unresolved maintenance issue to the MD.
  • Properly manage and maintain gym operational budget and employee schedules.
  • Responsible for the monthly Inventory process to be completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure the gym opens on time and all employees make all scheduled work shifts.
  • Responsible for control of cash deposits and paperwork.
  • Manage and motivate Front Desk gym attendants to perform all job duties effectively and efficiently while providing unbelievable customer service.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises team associates for the Front Desk/receptionist.
  • Ensures that bi-weekly payroll is completed approved and submitted on time.
  • Communicates with MD on ways to improve the quality of service.
  • Communicate with MD on any/all staffing/gym issues that may arise.
  • Communicate with General Manager and Regional Operations Manager on all staff performance levels.
  • Provide effective decision-making regarding customer service issues with company policy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment always.
  • Work in cooperation with MD and team members to properly document and report any member incidents that happen within the gym.
  • Work with the MD to set daily goals.
  • Ensure that all front desk systems are followed, such as front desk binders, Telephone Inquiry book, Maintenance Log, Guest Registration Log, Cash handling, and Guest Passes.
  • Responsible for always maintaining the highest level of customer service in every department.
  • Ensure that all Front Desk Staff is collecting any/all past due balances.
  • Oversee “Lost and Found” items and storage thereof.
  • Manage and support retail, concession, and promotions.

Job Requirements

  • A First Degree in any relevant field is required.
  • One+ years’ experience managing people in hospitality, fitness, and/or retail industries.
  • Experience in hospitality, fitness, and/or retail industries
  • Experience providing customer service and dealing with customer concerns.
  • Sales or fitness management experience highly preferred
  • Track record of success in a performance-driven work culture
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include holidays and weekends.
  • Uphold the Gym Centre’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and code of conduct.
  • Develop, implement, and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to motivate staff in a positive manner and promote team spirit.
  • Possesses strong leadership abilities.

  • Must be self-motivated and have strong organizational & management skills.
  • Must understand basic cash procedures.

  • Must be very friendly and a people’s person.
  • Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and work ethic.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks.

Salary
N100,000 monthly.
