A reputable company is currently seeking to employ suitably qualified candidate to fill the position below:

Job Title: Liner Finance Manager

Role and Responsibilities
  • Supervises the following and assist in performing the tasks where necessary
  • Bank reconciliations, Debtors reconciliations, Creditors reconciliations, Withholding Tax Reconciliation and partner billing
  • Monthly reconciliation between the Company and the principals of all local charges, Demurrage & Detention, intercompany reconciliation, VAT - reconciliations, reconciliation of balance sheet - accounts
  • Recharges of liner related cost to principals, prepare monthly statement of accounts (SOA) for the principals.
  • Prepare and posting of agency income-accruals, Credit control of both partners and liner customers.
  • Reconciliation of principal vessels ,by comparing payments made versus recovered.
  • Assisting during the remittance process of demurrage and detention.
  • Direct the development implementation maintenance and formulation of policies, procedures and practices as may be necessary for effective financial and operational control of the Liner activities in Nigeria with supervision and approval by departmental head.
  • Continual documentation, control and analyzing of expenses to implement and monitor cost saving initiatives.
  • To activate and lead the development of routines and systems related to company invoicing, disbursement and principal related accounts.
  • Signing of cheques for Liner activities and ensuring the validity of transactions.
  • Assisting with ad hoc reconciliations with major authorities and local customers such as Nigerian Ports Authority, National Maritime Authority etc.
  • Coordinates, together with the department head, the internal audit of Liner activities and directs and coordinates the development of effective internal control procedures and practices.
  • Establish and follow-up "early warning" systems and routines.
  • Any other duty assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of B.Sc Accounting or HND Accountancy
  • Minimum of 10- 15 years' experience in the Maritime industry will be an added advantage.
  • Associate member of ICAN; ACCA/CMA will be an added advantage.
