We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HSSE Support Services Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations and refresher courses.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, training, and incidents.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness planning and conduct drills to ensure effective response.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address safety and health initiatives.
  • Communicate safety updates and reminders to all employees through various channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 8 - 10 years work experience.
  • Proven experience in health and safety coordination, preferably in [industry].
  • Knowledge of local and national health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to conduct thorough inspections and investigations.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour General Industry, First Aid/CPR, or similar are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.

Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 / month.
