Overview

  • A Holiday/Tour Officer is responsible for creating, organizing, and facilitating memorable holiday and tour experiences for individuals or groups.
  • This role involves planning itineraries, booking accommodations and transportation, and ensuring that travelers have a seamless and enjoyable trip.
  • The primary goal is to provide exceptional customer service while promoting and selling tour packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tour Planning: Design and customize travel itineraries, taking into account the preferences and needs of clients. Research and select destinations, activities, and accommodations that align with the tour's theme or goals.
  • Customer Consultation: Communicate with clients to understand their travel preferences, budget, and special requirements. Provide expert advice and recommendations to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Booking and Reservations: Arrange all aspects of the tour, including transportation, accommodations, tours, excursions, and special activities. Coordinate with hotels, airlines, and other service providers to secure bookings.
  • Logistics Management: Ensure that all logistics, such as transportation schedules, tour guides, and entry tickets, are well-organized and communicated to clients in advance.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate travel documentation, including itineraries, visas, travel insurance, and any necessary permits.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service throughout the entire travel experience. Address any concerns, queries, or issues that clients may have during the trip.
  • Budgeting and Pricing: Create cost estimates and quotes for tour packages. Monitor expenses and ensure tours are operated within budget constraints.
  • Promotion and Sales: Promote tour packages through marketing efforts, both online and offline. Collaborate with marketing teams to create enticing tour packages and promotional materials.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all tours comply with safety regulations and local laws. Be prepared to handle emergencies or unexpected situations during the tour.
  • Client Feedback: Collect feedback from clients after their trips to gather insights for continuous improvement. Use feedback to enhance future tour offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in tour planning, travel agency, or related roles, typically 1-5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of popular tourist destinations, travel trends, and the tourism industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tours simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using booking and reservation systems, travel software, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Sales and marketing skills to promote and sell tour packages effectively.
  • Language proficiency, especially if dealing with international clients.
  • Must reside in lekki and its environs.
