A leading Downstream Oil Marketing Company with a  huge presence in commercial and industrial sales, lubricant, aviation and retail businesses across the Country is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Legal Officer

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Provide sound, reliable, and effective legal services to the business units and support departments of the company in their drive towards achieving set targets.
• Render timely statutory returns and trading results to all regulatory authorities.
• Handle statutory meetings handled by the Company's Secretariat, such as the Board Audit Committee, Board Committees, Extra Ordinary General, and Annual General Meetings of the Company and keep minutes thereof.
• Monitor and manage the Company's litigation matters and real estate

Qualifications

• LLB (minimum of Second Class Upper), BL, and LLM is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Post qualification year of experience: 7 years cognate experience in legal practice and in the downstream Oil and Gas Industry.
• Sound/excellent knowledge of Litigation matters.
• Good Experience in drafting & reviewing of Contracts/Agreements and Security Instruments.
• Good knowledge of Admiralty / Maritime Law, Corporate Governance & Compliance.
• Good experience in debt recovery and general legal advisory.
