Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.
  • The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.
  • A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to guide decision-making.
  • General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger accounts.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide analysis of variances.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor and forecast cash flows to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Manage cash disbursements and receipts.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Oversee the processing of invoices and payments to vendors.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.

Taxation:

  • Prepare and submit tax returns (income tax, GST/VAT, etc.) in compliance with relevant regulations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement necessary changes.
  • Streamline accounting procedures to enhance efficiency.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information is available for decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA/ICANqualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.

Salary
N450,000.00 / Month (Net)
