Job Title: Livestock Manager

Job Description

  • As the Livestock Manager, you will play a crucial role in the care, management, and overall health of our livestock.
  • Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of our pig, rabbit, and snail units, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, and driving productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Pig Management:

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of our pig production unit.
  • Oversee feeding, breeding, and healthcare protocols for the pig herd.
  • Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Monitor and optimize pig performance, growth rates, and feed efficiency.

Rabbit Management:

  • Manage the rabbit farming operations, including breeding, feeding, and care.
  • Maintain proper record-keeping for the rabbit herd.
  • Monitor and ensure the health and well-being of the rabbits.
  • Implement breeding programs to improve rabbit genetics and production.

Snail Management:

  • Supervise the snail farming unit, including snail housing and feeding.
  • Ensure snail health and disease prevention measures are in place.
  • Monitor snail growth and reproduction rates.
  • Coordinate the harvesting and processing of snails for market.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and train a team of livestock technicians and farm workers.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide guidance and mentorship.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data on livestock performance and production metrics.
  • Generate reports on key performance indicators and make data-driven decisions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees with relevant work experience.
