Job Title: Yoruba Teacher

Job Summary

• We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Yoruba Language Teacher to join our team and provide effective language instruction to students of varying ages and backgrounds.
• The ideal candidate should be fluent in Yoruba, have a deep understanding of Yoruba culture and traditions, and possess the skills to create an engaging and immersive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

• Develop and adapt Yoruba language teaching materials and curriculum suitable for different age groups and proficiency levels.
• Stay updated with the latest teaching methods and resources to enhance the quality of instruction.

Classroom Instruction:

• Deliver effective Yoruba language lessons that are interactive, engaging, and culturally relevant.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and active engagement.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

• Assess student progress through regular quizzes, tests, and assignments.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on their performance and areas for improvement.

Cultural Integration:

• Incorporate Yoruba culture, traditions, and history into lessons to provide a holistic language learning experience.
• Organize cultural events or activities to promote a deeper understanding of Yoruba culture.

Individualized Support:

• Identify and address the unique learning needs and challenges of each student.
• Offer additional support or resources to students who may require extra assistance.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain discipline and ensure a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Create a positive and safe atmosphere conducive to language learning.

Professional Development:

• Stay current with advancements in Yoruba language education and teaching methodologies.
• Attend workshops, conferences, or training sessions to enhance teaching skills.

Communication:

• Establish effective communication channels with students, parents, and school administration to provide updates on student progress and other relevant matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Yoruba language, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Knowledge of the computer and other online platform is complusory.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Yoruba language.
• Teaching certification or licensure (if required in your region).
• Previous experience teaching Yoruba language preferred.
• Deep cultural knowledge and understanding of Yoruba traditions and customs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and adaptability in teaching diverse learners.
• Ability to create engaging and culturally relevant lesson plans.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Enthusiasm for language teaching and cultural exchange.

Remuneration
N60,000 - N80,000 Monthly.
