The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Since its creation in 1863, the ICRC's sole objective has been to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and strife. It does so through its direct action around the world, as well as by encouraging the development of international humanitarian law (IHL) and promoting respect for it by governments and all weapon bearers. Its story is about the development of humanitarian action, the Geneva Conventions and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Yola Office is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below

Job Title: Communication Officer

Location:
Yola

Main Responsibilities
  • Provides the sub-delegation with an analysis of general humanitarian situation monitors the news and collates and summarizes information from local and international media outlets.
  • Contributes to the quality of dialogue with all interlocutors, develops key messages relevance to civil society groups, students, media, etc.
  • Contributes to the organisation of dissemination workshops, round-tables, seminars and courses for various groups (students, communities, etc).
  • Manages the Sub-Delegation’s library (photos. publications, videos, design files, etc),
  • Communicates and makes various presentations to different public (general population, students, universities, civil societies. media, etc).
  • Contributes to the development and production of ICRC communication and dissemination tools.
  • Carries out administrative and office work related to Communication Department.
Minimum Requirement arid Experience
  • University degree Communication, Arts, Journalism, Marketing and others)
  • 3 years’ work experience in a similar field of activity;
  • Excellent knowledge of online communication;
  • Excellent communication and presentation Skills With fluency to written and spoken English, Hausa and Fulfude.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills; Good knowledge of the political social and cultural assigned environment;
  • Ability to travel and work in Ademawa and in the North east of Nigeria;
  • Very good computer literacy.
