Position Overview
- We're seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Finance and Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) obligations, banking transactions, and possess expertise in using QuickBooks for efficient financial management.
- Must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in the finance or accounting field.
Responsibilities
- Tax Management: Ensure timely preparation, filing, and payment of VAT, WHT, and PAYE obligations. Stay updated on tax regulations.
- Banking Transactions: Monitor and reconcile bank transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure proper categorization.
- QuickBooks Expertise: Use QuickBooks for financial records, bookkeeping, and report generation. Ensure accurate data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of the company's financial records within QuickBooks.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in crafting financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data by conducting regular audits and reviews. Identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Vendor and Client Relations: Coordinate with vendors and clients to manage invoices, payments, and account reconciliations. Handle any inquiries related to financial transactions.
- Assist in Budgeting: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets. Provide input and recommendations for financial planning and forecasting.
- Compliance: Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to financial and accounting standards.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, management, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications in finance or accounting are a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a strong focus on VAT, WHT, PAYE, and banking transactions.
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks for financial management is essential.
- Solid understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Remuneration
N150,000 - N170,000 Monthly.
