Job Title: Quality Control and Furniture Design Consultant

Job Description
  • Candidates who will be working closely with the General Manager (Operations) and reporting directly to Management.
  • The prospective candidate wit be generating ideas and influencing design direction for current product streams, as well as generating ideas around other product ranges that the company can consider.
  • The ideal candidate will need to have a hands-on feel, love being integrated with the manufacturing process a yet have the ability to communicate with senior leaders and speak on quality and design issues at all levels, in addition to working with marketing teams to deliver quality and competitive products to customers.
  • The potential candidate will have to bring at least 7 years of furniture industry experience, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of upholstery, frame building, and all over production activities.
Job Accountabilities
  • Provide effective supervision of daily operations of production team in ensuring the quality policy of the company is strictly maintained and sustained.
  • Organize pre-production meeting to review product specifications.
  • Identify causes and corrective actions for production problems found during inspection.
  • Ensure size and other specifications for manufacturing are adhered to arid production/fit is in-line with approved samples.
  • Review failed inspection to identify problems affecting the quality of products and make disposition for re-inspection to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Ensure production and delivery problem feedback to the appropriate team in a timely manner.
  • Develop training program and conducting training sessions on quality standards, quality control systems and procedures, production technology and problem solving.
  • Monitor troubleshooting projects.
  • Set quality improvement plans with production team and follow-up the effectiveness.
  • Update quality records and clients requirements.
  • Communicate quality assurance procedures and requirements to staff and coach production team on technical and procedural guidance.
  • Ensure corrective actions are initiated and followed up until closure for all major quality issues that arise.
  • Monitor and act as central person to consult on furniture regulations, standards and testing requirements.
  • Launch new product collections.
  • Generate of ideas and setting design direction for production team.
  • Production of clear and informative production drawings for the production team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
  • Related degree is desirable.
  • 7 years experience in managerial position in furniture business, preferably in sizable and multinational companies.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power point, AutoCAD).
  • Leadership, adherence to company policies and procedures, quality-oriented, tolerant for stress, proactive, Integrity, work independently, analytical, well-organized, good problem solving, attention to details, systematic, reliable, good interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
