Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Skilled and professional staff form the foundation of a well-run hospital. The hospital will provide up-to-date facilities and services allowing our medical professionals to work efficiently and effectively.

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Summary of Responsibilities

  • To effectively manage the entire financial structure of the hospital so as to achieve optimum use of funding, asset management and return on capital and shareholder equity, through efficiently and effectively providing financial services and complying with all aspects of corporate governance

Job Requirements

  • B.Com or CA
  • 3 years experience in a financial management of a private hospital.
  • Proficiency and experience in financial, operational and strategic management
  • Proficiency in stakeholder relationship management.
  • Strong and persuasive negotiating skills.
  • Understanding of legislative and business climate pertaining to healthcare.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Formal presentations to both senior and lower level organization structures
  • Chairing of meetings at all levels
  • Preparation, implementation and on-going management of financial budgets
  • Staff performance appraisal interviews
  • Training and development of staff
  • Proven leadership
  • Proven examples of improvements in financial services e.g. quality, cost
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving capabilities
  • Mature and professional attitude
  • Open minded and willingness to embrace change and implement change decisions
  • Acceptance of responsibility and accountability for position and decisions made
  • Ability to debate and constructively argue situations either in defence of financial activities and results, or motivate recommendations that are in the interests of the hospital.
