Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Job Title: Anaesthetic Technician

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Allied Health Services

Summary of Responsibilities

• Assisting anaesthesia providers (anaesthesiologists, physician anaesthetists etc. ) in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of anaesthesia during surgical procedures.
• This includes but is not limited to setup of equipment, patient preparation, monitoring, medication administration, trouble shooting, sterilization and maintenance of equipment, record keeping, emergency response etc.. 

Job Requirements

• WASSCE / SSCE or equivalent
• Relevant post-matric qualification 
• Registration with the relevant regulatory body
• At least 2 years’ experience in a hospital environment
• Competency to carry out required duties 
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a calm, confident and caring manner
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team with patients, doctors and other healthcare workers
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good hand to eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
• Able to concentrate for long periods.
