Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Skilled and professional staff form the foundation of a well-run hospital. The hospital will provide up-to-date facilities and services allowing our medical professionals to work efficiently and effectively.

Job Title: Patient Administration Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Finance and Administration

Summary of Responsibilities

  • To manage and co-ordinate patient services resources, processes and operations to achieve the quality, growth and people objectives in order to ensure the optimization of the hospitals profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant business-related Degree or Nursing Diploma
  • 2 - 3 years relevant private healthcare industry experience
  • 2-4 years experience of working in a management or leadership position
  • Computer literate
  • Understanding of basic finance principles, i.e budgets, credit management, planning,
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, technical and clinical concepts and patient services business processes
  • Knowledge of operational management principles
  • Knowledge of funder rules, benefit options, administrators and managed care organisations.   
  • Knowledge of funder contracts and company billing practices (including fee for service, DRG’s, per diems, etc.)
  • Understanding of company processes, policies, practices relating to systems, growth, quality and people
  • Knowledge of local business practices including doctors, staff and the community
  • Leadership, change and people management experience
  • Written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage various stakeholders and must be able to deliver exceptional customer service.
