Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Job Title: IT Assistant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Information Technology (IT)

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provides crucial support to the hospital’s IT department by assisting with the management of information technology systems and ensuring the smooth operation of computer hardware and software.
  • This position plays a vital role in maintaining the hospital’s IT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to staff.  It includes the management of user access and use, setting up of hardware and installing software where necessary, problem determination and solving, liaison with users and maintaining IT processes and documentation.
  • Plays a crucial role in ensuring that healthcare workers have access to reliable IT resources, which is essential for the delivery of quality patient care and the efficient operation of the hospital.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical certifications are a plus)
  • Experience in a hospital setting an advantage
  • Basic programming skills essential
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Competency and efficiency in Microsoft programs
