Job Title: Career Coach

Role Summary

• As a Career Coach at Decagon, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our DecaDevs (graduates of the Decagon Software Engineering Program) who are awaiting job placements.
• You will be responsible for managing our Graduate Awaiting Placement (GAP) Program and supporting DecaDevs in enhancing their employability through various strategies and initiatives.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Oversee the GAP Program dedicated to assisting DecaDevs who have completed the Decagon Software Engineering Program and are awaiting job placements.
• Provide personalized career guidance and support to each DecaDev, understanding their unique career goals and challenges.
• Develop and execute strategies to engage DecaDevs effectively on the platform.
• Maintain regular communication with DecaDevs to provide updates, resources, and motivation.
• Design a comprehensive learning and engagement curriculum that addresses the specific needs of DecaDevs.
• Create materials, workshops, and resources to aid in skill development and job readiness.
• Develop and implement interview preparation strategies, including designing interview questions, conducting mock interviews, and offering constructive feedback to DecaDevs.
• Encourage and ensure that DecaDevs remain dedicated to continuous learning and skill improvement.
• Work closely with hiring partners and employers to connect DecaDevs with job opportunities.
• Generate regular reports to assess the effectiveness of the GAP Program and make data-driven improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree
• 4 to 6 years of experience in career coaching, talent development, or related fields
• Strong understanding of the software engineering industry and job market trends
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven track record of helping individuals secure job placements
• Familiarity with learning and development strategies.
