Job Summary
- A Power plant manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of power plants.
- He/She ensures that their facility is running smoothly and efficiently, and ensure that all safety protocols are being followed at all times.
Job Description
- Coordinating with other company managers to ensure that their facilities are running efficiently
- Monitoring energy prices on the spot market to ensure that the plant is selling at a profit
- Developing a plan for emergency response in case of equipment failure or other emergencies
- Creating a detailed list of goals and objectives for the department, which may include increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving employee morale
- Training new employees in proper safety procedures and emergency response plans
- Maintaining equipment to ensure that it is operating properly and efficiently
- Identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption through improved efficiency measures or by switching to alternative energy sources such as wind, solar, or hydroelectric power
- Overseeing the daily operations of the plant, including maintenance, repair, hiring, and firing decisions
- Providing leadership and management to the facility’s staff to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Job Requirements
- Graduate in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- 8 - 10 years’ experience in similar fields
- Knowledge of Jenbacher Gas Engine + Cummins DG engine operation & Maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of power plant systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, and controls
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent project management skills
- Effective communication (both written and oral) skill
- Strong organization and management skill
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
