Job Title: Associate Museum Conservator

Job Description
- The successful candidate would be required to provide expertise to support acquisitions, loans, exhibitions, and other undertakings fundamental to the Centre's Museum's operations, building on a strong culture of internal teamwork between the curatorial and other relevant units of the Center's Museum operations.
Responsibilities
Accordingly, his/her key roles would include:
- Carrying out examination, documentation, survey work, and conservation treatment of artifacts in the Museum's collection in compliance with the relevant policy and accepted professional standards.
- Consulting with the relevant stakeholders on conservation work as may be needed and appropriate.
- Preparing condition documentation for acquisition, loans, and exhibitions and contributing to condition review and decision-making for outgoing loan requests.
- Participating in the preventive maintenance of the collection and demonstrating proficiency in environmental monitoring and integrated Pest management
- Carrying out technical research relevant to the Museum's collection or conservation-related topics.
- Constructing or consulting on custom storage containers for artifacts or works of art with special needs.
- Disseminating information on conservation activities and research in a range of platforms, including public and professional lectures and print and digital publications.
Qualification / Experience / Skills
- The successful candidate must possess a good First Degree and Master's Degree in Conservation or Preservation, or related disciplines.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of conservation experience working with museum-quality objects and historical media.
- Expertise in the conservation of artefacts and contemporary materials is essential.
- The successful candidate would have advanced knowledge of conservation ethics, principles, and techniques, as well as awareness of and commitment to professional museum best practices through active membership in relevant professional organizations.
- He/She must be conversant with analytical methods and recent technologies in the field.
