Senior Mobile Engineer (Flutter) at Ubenwa

Ubenwa is a Montreal-based startup building the future of automated sound-based medical diagnostics by leveraging cutting-edge AI research. We have developed the first technology for rapid detection of neurological and respiratory conditions in infants using only their cry sounds. We are a team of award-winning scientists, engineers and medical professionals. Our technology is based on years of scientific research in close collaboration with Mila - the Québec AI Institute and the McGill University Health Center.

Ubenwa’s technology has applications in primary health care, clinical trials, and in guiding neurodevelopmental care. Our investors are experienced venture capital firms -- Radical Ventures and AIX Ventures -- as well as AI luminaries such as Yoshua Bengio, the founder of Mila; Pieter Abbeel, robotics entrepreneur and professor at UC Berkeley; and Hugo Larochelle, head of Google Brain in Montreal.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Mobile Engineer (Flutter)

Location: Lagos (Possible full remote)

Contract Type: Full-Time

Job Description

• We are looking for a passionate, self-driven, and talented flutter engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience in mobile development, including previous iOS app development.
• You will join our core software/design team in bringing our mobile vision to life.

Main Responsibilities

• Building mobile apps with Dart & Flutter with clean, elegant and test-driven code
• Reproducing pixel-perfect UI and animations from design mockups
• Serverless integrations with other APIs
• Writing good documentation
• Aligning with the goals of the business and communicating effectively
• Ability to work independently, deal with ambiguity, and deliver results in a fast-moving startup environment.

Preferred Experience

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical discipline
• 7+ years of mobile software development
• Have previous experience in Native iOS development
• Good hands-on exposure to Flutter Framework and development to create apps
• Experience with mobile testing frameworks
• Git version control
• Published one or more Android/iOS/RN/Flutter apps on the app stores.
• Experience using web services (HTTP, REST, SOAP) with JSON payloads

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience developing science-driven mobile applications
• Experience deploying machine learning models on edge devices
• Experience with Native Android
• Knowledge of signal processing
