Job Description
  • Logistics Shift coordinator mission is to coordinate in-plant trucks mobilization, ensure the Dispatch operation is optimized through payload optimisation and total compliance to core market dispatches.
  • Ensure that our products are delivered to the customers in a timely and efficient manner by reducing waiting and lost time in -plant.
  • Directs the truck drivers' towards responsible safety behaviour through usage of drivers rest room on the tarmac, ensuring compliance to PPE usage and prompt issue resolution attitude hence, promoting safe logistic operations in the plant.
  • Guarantees the control of the physical logistics flows and the effective utilization of company assets to achieve her objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
The position is responsible for the following main activities:
  • Report to distribution Manager on the safe daily operation of the plants
  • Responsible for the safe operation and supervision of the weigh-bridge and drive compliance to Lafarge safety guidelines as regards truck drivers.
  • Responsible for execution dispatch plan based on customer dispatch plan from customer services unit.
  • Reconciliation and review of dispatch plan on volume parked at the loading bay and planning template.
  • Cost Optimisation with payload and distribution split management
  • Responsible for daily engagement with the plant team on product availability and customer service centre on daily planning.
  • Coordinate in/outbound clerk activities on scaling in/out of both cement and non-cement trucks.
  • Ensure effective and efficient daily Traffic management on the internal tarmac and around the weigh-bridges.
  • Get directives from distribution manager the n interface between corporate account managers and the plant team on dispatch planning for premium products.
  • Maintain Collaboration with Trailer park manager in ensuring in-plant trucks mobilization for dispatch operations with drastic reduction in in-plant cycle time.
  • Champion investigation of near misses and unsafe acts for root cause identification as well as establishing corrective and preventive actions.
