Job Title: Hospital Pharmacist

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

Job Summary

  • As a Hospital Pharmacist in our healthcare facility, you will play a pivotal role in patient care by ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications.
  • You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, manage medication inventory, and provide valuable expertise in pharmaceutical care. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense and label medications in accordance with prescription orders, ensuring the correct dosage, form, and administration route.
  • Medication Review: Review medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions, and consult with healthcare providers as needed.
  • Patient Education: Counsel patients and their caregivers on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and adherence to prescribed regimens.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate levels of pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring drug supplies to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies, in all pharmacy operations.
  • Clinical Support: Participate in patient rounds and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide drug therapy recommendations and monitor patients' responses to medications.
  • Compounding: Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications, including intravenous (IV) admixtures and specialized compounds as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Patient Records: Maintain accurate and confidential patient medication records, including medication histories and profiles.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist in medication management during medical emergencies or disasters.

Qualifications

  • B. Pharm degree, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
  • 3 to 4 years experience in the same role
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and medication management.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to patient safety.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
