Job Description

• A Geography Instructor in a secondary school is responsible for teaching Geography to students, typically in grades 6-12.
• Their primary duties include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student performance, and creating an engaging and informative learning environment.
• They may also be involved in curriculum development and extracurricular activities related to Geography.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver Geography lessons that align with the curriculum.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students in the subject.
• Assess and evaluate students' understanding and progress through assignments, exams, and projects.
• Maintain a well-organized and conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
• Stay updated on Geography education trends, resources, and teaching techniques.

Requirements
Education:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Education, or a related field is typically required.

Experience:

• Prior teaching experience, especially in secondary education, is often preferred which is 2 years.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Geography concepts and the ability to convey them effectively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Classroom management and discipline skills.
• Adaptability to different learning styles and needs of students.
• Patience and empathy when working with diverse student populations.
• Computer and technology proficiency for teaching aids and online resources.
