Job Title: Fiber Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Design and engineer outside plant fiber optic networks, which includes determining the appropriate fiber size, construction methods, and equipment sizing.
• Ensure that the designs are cost-effective and compliant with industry standards.
• Prepare detailed drawings of designs using tools to provide clear guidelines for the construction team.
• Collaborate with in-house teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project coordination and construction. Your support is essential for project success and delivering top-notch customer service.
• Ensure that all construction designs meet industry and safety regulations
• Visit field locations within the service area to gather accurate field notes for new construction and changes to existing outside plant facilities.
• Assist in the transition between existing and newly constructed facilities to ensure a smooth handover.
• Maintain, update, and design construction sheets and splicing details.
• Assist with construction coordination throughout the Broadband’s service area
• Prioritize accuracy in construction designs, ensuring that all construction practices adhere to standard practices and safety precautions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of FTTP (Fiber to the Premises) concepts.
• Ensures that construction progresses smoothly by determining that preliminary work is completed before the work order is released.
• Understanding of FTTP brownfield or greenfield
• Prepares and assists in all transition phases between existing and newly constructed plant facilities.
