Position Overview
- We are seeking a skilled and empathetic School Counselor to support the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students. As a School Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive school environment, providing guidance, and assisting students in overcoming personal and educational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one counseling to students to address various issues, including academic, social, and emotional concerns.
- Organize and facilitate group counseling sessions and workshops on topics such as study skills, conflict resolution, and career planning.
- Assess students' needs and develop personalized intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support students' overall well-being.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide a safe space for students to express their feelings and concerns.
- Promote a positive school climate by implementing anti-bullying and anti-discrimination initiatives.
- Stay updated on best practices in counseling and adolescent development.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in counseling practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling, School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
- State certification or licensure as a school counselor is an added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to school counseling.
- Experience in counseling students in an educational setting is an asset.
- You caring and experienced School Counselor who is ready to make a positive impact on the lives of students and support their personal and academic growth.
