Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Position Overview

  • The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the finance team, overseeing and managing the financial activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • You will collaborate closely with various departments to provide strategic financial insights and support business decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks, providing insights to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage budgets, support forecasting activities, and provide variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, ensuring smooth and successful audit processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls within the finance function.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as procurement, sales, and operations to align financial strategies with business objectives.

Requirements

  • B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or related field.
  • ICAN Or ACCA Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling financial matters.
